IRMO, SC – Mark your calendars! The Irmo Police Department is hosting a free community event to help raise awareness and prevent substance abuse among youth. The event, titled “High in Plain Sight”, features the nationally acclaimed Officer Jermaine Galloway, also known as “The Tall Cop”.
Officer Galloway’s engaging presentation aims to educate attendees on identifying potential substance abuse risk factors. This event is essential for anyone concerned about youth and community health.
What You Will Learn:
- Signs and Symptoms of Substance Use: Learn to identify early signs of alcohol and drug use.
- Identification of Drug Paraphernalia: Get acquainted with common items that may indicate drug use and recognize popular party drugs.
- Dangers of Synthetic Drugs: Understand the risks associated with synthetic drugs and the misuse of over-the-counter medications.
