IRMO, SC – The Town of Irmo has been honored as a Tree City USA, joining a prestigious network of South Carolina communities committed to enhancing quality of life through urban forestry. The recognition, given at last week’s Trees SC annual conference, celebrates communities that actively support tree care and sustainable urban green spaces.
Irmo’s Public Service Manager and Arborist, Whitt Cline, along with his team, played a key role in achieving this recognition. Their ongoing efforts help maintain Irmo’s beauty and promote a healthy, green environment.
The Tree City USA program, established by the Arbor Day Foundation in 1976, acknowledges cities that prioritize environmental sustainability and a greener future. Irmo now joins the ranks of communities nationwide striving to create cleaner, healthier urban landscapes through dedicated forestry programs.
