On September 29, the Optimist Club of St. Andrews-Irmo held its annual Day of Giving during which more than $30,000 was donated to 20 causes.
The common thread of the recipients is that each of them works to improve the lives of the youth of the Midlands. Many of the causes are located in the Irmo community.
Over the Club’s 50-plus years, during events such as this, the Club has donated more than a half million dollars. The proceeds that make this day possible come from the Club’s annual Spring golf tournament and from the Optimist Christmas Tree lot located on the McGregor Presbyterian property.
