The Arts Trail through Chapin

Crooked Creek Art League (CCAL) is once again partnering with the Town of Chapin to create public art to beautify a public space. “The Arts Trail through Chapin” will be a highly visible multi-part public art display featuring a community scavenger hunt and auction culminating at the 2021 Chapin Labor Day Festival. Eighteen visual artists from around this area are decorating 24 metal trail markers with themes celebrating the history, beauty and community of Chapin. Some of the artfully adorned trail markers will eventually be installed along the Chapin Nature Trail now being developed on the acreage surrounding Town Hall.

Until August 31, a selection of the trail markers will be on advance display in the heart of Chapin. September 1 through 5 there will be a town-wide scavenger hunt encouraging participants to find all the new Art Trail markers on display in their host sponsor locations. Completed scavenger hunt forms should be turned in at the Arts Trail through Chapin Booth during the Labor Day Festival on Monday, September 6 to be entered into a drawing to win prizes. Visitors to the Booth during the Labor Day Festival can view all the markers and cast a vote to help select the People’s Choice Award winner. In addition, there will be a silent auction where the markers can be bid on for purchase.

For more details, including the scavenger hunt form and information about the in-person and online silent auction and how to sponsor or otherwise support the project, visit crookedcreekart.org/art-trail-project. Funds raised from the auction will go towards a larger scale community art project the League is planning for Chapin. Only a few sponsorship slots remain so don’t delay!

Crooked Creek Art League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit consisting of over 110 artists from Chapin and the surrounding midlands communities.
