Penfield, the founder of Tribal Coffee Co., Poore House Furnishings, Parking Lot King, and Maverick’s Cigars, has demonstrated his commitment to both business and community development. His entrepreneurial spirit has not only shaped local commerce but has also made a mark on the social fabric of Irmo. Additionally, Penfield has contributed as a Board Member on the Carmel Commons Homeowners Association, showcasing his engagement in local governance.
Vision for Irmo’s Future
“Irmo is at a significant turning point, and we can either decline or soar,” Penfield remarked, highlighting the critical juncture the town faces. Despite narrowly missing a Town Council seat in his previous bid, Penfield remains undeterred, expressing his determination to contribute to Irmo’s growth.
In the face of persistent low voter turnout, Penfield aims to collaborate with fellow business owners to establish a small business incubator for Irmo High School students. His vision revolves around preserving the intimate nature of small-town living while encouraging responsible business development.
“I love people, and I love to have a good time. We all don’t see eye to eye every time, but we’re all in this together and want to have a great place to raise our families and share in community together,” Penfield shared, reflecting his passion for fostering a sense of community cohesion.
