Irmo Special Election on February 27

Irmo residents are heading back to the polls in a special election on February 27 to fill the Town Council seat left vacant by Mayor Bill Danielson. Two candidates who previously ran for town-wide at-large seats in 2023 are back in the running.

The candidates vying for the role are George Frazier and Gabriel Penfield.

  • Early Voting: Early voting commenced on February 12 and will continue until February 23. Early voting locations are 605 West Main Street, Suite C, Lexington (8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday) for Lexington County, and 2020 Hampton Street, Columbia (8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday through Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday) for Richland County.
  • Absentee Voting: Registered voters who cannot vote early or qualify for absentee voting can request an absentee application by phone, mail, or in person. The law mandates that ballots will be mailed. The deadline for returning applications is February 16 at 5 pm.
