The Town of Irmo is gearing up for a special election on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, to fill the council member position left vacant by former council member and current Mayor Bill Danielson. This election offers residents the opportunity to select a representative to voice their concerns and contribute to shaping Irmo’s future.
The candidates vying for the vacant council seat are George Frazier and Gabriel Penfield.
Early voting is set to commence on February 12, 2024, and will run until February 23, 2024. Early voting locations for Lexington County will be at 605 West Main Street, Suite C, Lexington, SC 29072, open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed on weekends). For Richland County, the early voting site is at 2020 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29204, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed on weekends).
Registered voters unable to vote early or qualifying for absentee voting can request an Absentee Application by phone, mail, or in person. Ballots will be mailed as per legal requirements. The Richland County Voter Registration office is located at 2020 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29204, reachable by phone at (803) 576-2240. The Lexington County Voter Registration office is at 605 W. Main Street, Suite C, Lexington, SC 29072, and can be contacted at (803) 785-8361. Applications must be returned by February 16, 2024, at 5 p.m.
